We’ve made sure to address those groups in Call Analytics. Tier 1 is usually a first point of contact, and Tier 2 is an escalation group. We know many companies have different tiers of Helpdesk. Once you have found the user whom you wanted to investigate, Call Analytics provides you with a clear overview of all calls placed by this user. This is specifically focused around help desk and escalation scenarios in which a user has raised a quality concern over a call or meeting. The big difference between the two is that the CQD is the aggregate of all Audio Quality Data (AQD), showing you quality trends within your company, while Call Analytics is focused on single calls and meetings, providing a detailed analysis of the selected call or meeting for issue resolution by the helpdesk.Ĭall Analytics provides you with a very friendly interface that allows you to search for any user within your organization. Call Analytics is a great addition to our already existing quality tool, the Call Quality Dashboard (CQD). While this was already possible using PowerShell, as described by this article Troubleshoot individual calls in Skype for Business Online, with Call Analytics this is now an easy process. Call Analytics allows you to view all calls and meetings from a single user, then zoom in on single calls from that user, allowing you to view device reports, network reports, or walk through the entire quality report. In this blog, we discuss what it is, and how it can help you.Ĭall Analytics, is our visual deep-dive tool to help troubleshoot and analyze problematic calls from a simple and clear user interface. Helena and Kenneth's relationship lasted for five years, before they called things off in 1999, and she later started a long-term relationship in 2001 with director Tim Burton. Emma Thompson married Kenneth Branagh in 1989, but filed for divorce six years later after discovering his affair with Helena Bonham-Carter, reportedly stemming from when they met on the set of Frankenstein in 1994.Īs you most probably know, Emma played Professor Trelawney in The Prisoner Of Azkaban, the Order of the Phoenix and Deathly Hallows: Part 2, Kenneth played Professor Gilderoy Lockhart in The Chamber of Secrets and Helena played Bellatrix Lestrange throughout the franchise. Emma Thompson divorced her husband Kenneth Branagh after he had an affair with Helena Bonham-Carter - all of which were in the Harry Potter films somebody will tell me we’re going to an airport and I know vaguely what we’re doing but I have no idea when so I take it a day at a time." 9. Apart from a few times when I was drinking. I mean, that has happened, but generally speaking I’ve known the person. You know you’re going to have to talk to them afterwards, even if it is a one-night stand. "I like to like somebody before I sleep with them. "I was always very nervous about the groupie thing", Daniel explained in a candid interview about his love life with The Mirror. Daniel Radcliffe admitted to sleeping with Harry Potter fans 'a few times' This has definitely been the most intense, gruelling period of film-making I’ve ever done." 8. "I hate to sound whiny but it’s horrible. Every single second of my day is not in my power. "I get told what time I can eat, when I have time to go to the bathroom. I get told what time I get picked up", she explained of her potential decision. "I have such a structure when I’m working on Potter. In a 2010 interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Hermione Granger actress said she nearly quit the franchise aged 16 because she felt trapped by the "horrible" filming schedule - but eventually made the "agonising" decision to sign up for another five years. Emma Watson considered quitting after the fourth film From here on out it's a much darker and relentlessly thrilling take on the character, so I'll always be partial to the lighter tone Chamber of Secrets presented.Warner Bros 7. The first film is great, but this was Harry and Radcliffe coming into their own as character and actor respectively. If there was ever a question to that proposal, Chamber of Secrets definitely put that to rest. Hermione is sidelined for the last 40 minutes or so and Ron is just about scared of anything they come across. This film was also a test for Harry, and particularly Daniel Radcliffe, to show if he can truly carry a film or not. There's definitely a more childish tone to it all, but these are 12-year-olds after all. Seeing Harry venture into the secrets of Tom Riddle's diary is some terrifying stuff to see as a kid, as is seeing various victims picked off in Hogwarts due to the Chamber being open. But the film isn't short on its eerie reveals, adventurous thrills, and dark storytelling.Ĭhamber of Secrets brilliantly balances all of that though. All of this makes for a brisk 2 hours and 40 minutes of wizard fun. Much like the first film, we have plenty of entertaining side missions for the trio to go on which included a flying car, taking a potion to disguise themselves as Slytherin, following spiders into the dark forest, and of course some Quidditch. Being that it's the confident and curious Harry Potter we're talking about, of course he makes his way back to the school within a few scenes. With that said, we are jumped right back into the fold as Harry is back with his muggle family in England when a house elf, named Dobby, appears and warns him to never return back to Hogwarts. I guess that's the feeling you get when you watch the films within days of each other. Don't get me wrong, I love all 8 films, but there's something about the campy and all around goofiness to Chamber of Secrets that makes it all the more endearing.Įven though it was filmed merely months after the first film was released Harry, Ron, and Hermione feel like they have grown so much since their first outing at Hogwarts. To me, it's the last Potter film to make me feel nostalgic towards the series. The attendees were asked to categorize the outcomes achieved by their IIoT projects. Question: For your manufacturing processes, rank the challenges towards adoption of smart technologies & defining ROI. This starts with communicating a sense of urgency (what is the threat?), and then “what’s in it for me?” from the individual employee’s perspective. Managers should be aware of the basics of change management to successfully break through an organization’s natural tendency to resist change. Overall this would be a definite recommendation even if all three books were being sold separately at full price – considering how much value for money the edition offers just adds to the reasons to run out and buy it. Her dialogue is also fantastic, especially the interplay between Jenny's friends Dee and Audrey, whose initial rivalry changes as the game goes on and they're forced to rely on each other at times. I love Smith's writing style – it's fast paced and action packed, but surprisingly deep at times, with the books drawing on lots of references to mythology of various cultures, particularly in the first of the trilogy as the friends face Julian's minions, who appear as dark elves from Germany, aliens, and other creatures. Similarly, Jenny's boyfriend Tom really changes as the books go on, as does her relationship with him as she realises that Julian wants her for a lover. The most strongly written person though, is Julian, the Shadow Man himself, particularly in the second and third books, as he develops from a fairly standard villain to an extremely interesting personality. Jenny's a great central character, and I love the interplay between the group and the friendship that comes across, just as I did in Smith's Dark Visions. The opening few chapters build the tension up to an incredible high, to the point where when the teens finally realise they're trapped in the menacing Shadow World it's almost a relief that they're finally able to figure out there's something wrong – at least until the nightmares start happening. This is absolutely, mind-bendingly, heart-stoppingly, terrifying. There are mildly frightening books and there are really frightening books – this is neither. The group of teens are left fighting against their worst nightmares as they try to defeat the sinister Shadow Man and escape – but when some of them finally do get out, they realise that it's just the beginning of the nightmare for them. But when she and her friends open the game to play it, they're transported to a world where the boy is the Shadow Man, and the consequence of losing the game can be deadly. Going in, she talks to a handsome boy who sells her a mysterious game in a plain box. While looking for a game to play for her boyfriend's birthday, Jenny Thorn comes across a strange shop she's never seen before. I revised that chapter to say that “the adults around me” were really to blame. In the ‘warts and all’ vomit draft version, a relative makes a comment on my butt when I'm seven, and it completely traumatizes me. SARI: There's a piece in the book about my struggle with body image and weight and eating disorders. KARIN: Can you give an example of how you handled some of the more incendiary material? There’s just something about needing to own my personal story. For me to then have to hide behind a pseudonym and build that pseudonym’s platform… I wasn't up for that. One is that I would be really pissed off I have spent more than 30 years building my platform. There were a few reasons I didn't publish under that name. But I want to do those things because I want to play God with characters who do interesting things, not because I want to write a story about my relationship with people in my life in a way that they will not recognize themselves, because that's impossible. I have an idea for a novel and a list of ideas for short stories. SARI: You should write fiction because you're interested in fiction and the art and mechanics of it, not because you're trying to avoid getting in trouble for writing about your life. Given how challenging these lines are for you, did you ever consider fictionalizing your story? KARIN: The ethics of memoir are deeply personal. I showed the people I care about the pieces they were in, and said, Is this okay with you? How do you want me to refer to you? Do you want me to change your name? I tended to only change your name if you were a jerk. I really did my best to make it so that if one of these awful people who I dated read it, they'd know it was them but nobody else would know unless they already knew the story. I changed so many identifying characteristics. KARIN: Do you feel like these changes diluted the story at all? So, I went back and scrubbed it of any unnecessary, inflammatory details. It's going to be 2022. And she said, Fine. I said, I'm not going to get to publish my book in 2021. I’ve got to do another level of extraction. That book was edited.Īnd then I went back to my editor, and I said, You know what? I have to do that again. And then once it was out of my body, out of my head on the page, only then could I blur, subtract and edit. SARI BOTTON: When it came time to actually write my book, I realized I needed to first write a vomit draft, what I call a ‘warts and all’ vomit draft with everything in it. The P90s were replaced with a Seymour Duncan 59 and JB humbucker set, and it was apparently Kurt’s favorite Univox guitar - one of the few he didn't smash, and he might've used it for 'In Utero'! ( subsequently, Kurt would use the same set of humbuckers with most of his guitars.) One of his most interesting Univox guitars of the period is his 68 Hi-Flier Custom, in sunburst finish with tortoiseshell pickguard - which made it look quite different than the usual Univox models. Those pickups have huge output and are completely over the top. According to Rick King, owner of Guitar Maniacs in Tacoma, Washington, Cobain "bought a whole bunch of Univox Hi-Flyers-both the P-90 version and ones with humbuckers. The most crucial thing back then (1989-1990) was Kurt's taste for cheap Univox Hi-Flier guitars. Picture: Kurt Cobain and a white Univox Hi-Flier So, Kurt was using it pre-'Nevermind' but only with this album it became really inseparable from his sound - hard to imagine songs such as Come As You Are without it! Kurt Cobain & the Univox Hi-Flier In 1990, after the recording of 'Bleach', Kurt Cobain got the pedal that supplied some of the most memorable moments in his career - the Electro-Harmonix Small Clone chorus. As simple as it was effective - and anyone can pretty easily replicate this setup, since Kurt's distortion sound had more to do with the cheap Boss than anything else. Kurt Cobain used a Randall solid-state head and 4x12 cab at the time, but for the album, Kurt used Endino's Fender Twin Reverb, and the only pedal he used was a Boss DS-1 Distortion. More than 27 (!!!) years later, it's still an inspiration for many guitarists who like their rock music dirty & simple! But it was 'Bleach' that defined Grunge, so here's our guide to Kurt Cobain's guitar gear during that period.
